Each Pub Quiz consists of 10 Rounds, including picture rounds and sound rounds.
The entry fee is €15 a team. Each team can have up to 5 players. Players are not allowed to use cell phones, Blackberries, or other such devices during the quiz (sorry, but people have been known to cheat).
All answers are final - unless the Quizmaster says so. Remember, the Quizmaster is always right, even when he's wrong!
Anyone sitting at the table is considered a player. This is because if the "sixth person" knows an answer, they will blurt it out - even if they pinky-sweared they wouldn't. If you have six people on your table, you will have to register two teams. However, all six of you can still sit at the same table - although you will be required to exchange your answer sheets with someone else.
First of all, space is limited. The Scholar's Lounge only has enough space for about 22 teams (and that is putting 3 teams at the bar). Second of all, the Quizmaster buys prizes based upon the number of teams that show are scheduled to show up. If people don't sign up, he will assume he should buy fewer prizes. No one wants that!
Rome is an international city, so it is best to build an international team. Questions cover both British and American sports (as well as Canadian, Australian, Irish, etc), Bands big in the UK might not have been listened to in the US, and so on. If you are a predominantly American team, find a Brit, and vice versa. Strangely, the best peforming teams have usually been largely Irish...
"Rome Puz Quiz is no ordinary quiz! It has a really fantastic array of brain teasing and mind boggling questions, however old you are and wherever you come from. Aside from that, the quiz master is a legend, it's always a great evening, and it of course gives you a chance to showcase your fabulously useless facts to your mates!"
